Landscape Design — Native Planting

Native Planting &
Canopy Design

Layered native planting plans prioritizing canopy, understorey, and ground cover. We build resilient, self-sustaining gardens that shelter and feed local wildlife while requiring less water and maintenance.

Growing the canopy.
Growing the community.

Urban tree canopy is one of the most powerful tools we have against heat, flooding, and biodiversity loss. We plant with permanence in mind, selecting native species suited to local soils and climate that will provide shade, habitat, and cooling within a decade.

Every design specifies the right tree for the right place: root zones, fall habit, wildlife value, and mature scale all considered from day one. We don't install fast-growing fillers. We plant with generational intent.

Canopy Layer

Mature trees that provide shade, habitat, and cooling. Selected for long-term growth and ecological value.

Understorey Layer

Shrubs and small trees that fill the mid-level, providing food and shelter for birds and pollinators.

Ground Cover

Native grasses and perennials that complete the ecosystem, prevent erosion, and support soil health.

Why Native Planting?

Less Water Required

Native plants are adapted to local rainfall patterns and require significantly less irrigation once established.

Supports Biodiversity

Native species provide food and habitat for local birds, insects, and wildlife, creating a thriving ecosystem.

Resilient & Long-Lasting

Plants adapted to local conditions are more resistant to pests, diseases, and extreme weather.

Deepens in Beauty

Native landscapes evolve beautifully through the seasons, offering something new to discover year-round.
